Employees attend speech with Biden, Duncan
Merideth Sellars, instructor in Biological Sciences, is photographed with Vice President Joe Biden after he and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan gave a speech at Gahanna High School January 12. The soaring cost of college was the topic and more than 700 high school juniors, seniors and parents packed the school gym for the presentation. Sellers was one of twenty employee from Columbus State who attended the speech with President David Harrison.
"As a lead instructor in the Biological Sciences department, I recognize the struggles students have in financial affordability,” Sellars said after the presentation. “I wanted to hear what the Secretary of Education and Vice President had to say about the issue. I am encouraged to see that the current administration endorses community college education."
