Placement Tests
All
beginning students, citizens, immigrants and international/non-immigrant
students at CSCC, take placement tests in English and math to determine the
classes in which to start. Virtually all non-native English speakers are
required to take a written English composition placement test when they
arrive at Columbus State. Your score on the placement test will determine
whether you must take one or more English as a Second Language (ESL) courses
before beginning your major program courses. Students who have taken
college-level English at another U.S. institution may be exempt from taking the
placement test. ESL courses cannot be used as credit towards a degree.
Once you have
obtained the results of your placement test, you will be ready to select and
register for classes.
