Technical services is responsible for adding, processing and cataloging materials in the library's general collection. This includes any new printed or audiovisual material. To request new materials, faculty members must have their department chairperson sign the new materials request form before forwarding it to the Technical Services Coordinator. The material is ordered and, when received by the library, the requester is notified. Click here for "New Materials Request Form" (pdf file) The ERC catalogs all of its materials using the shared cataloging system of OCLC, the largest library database in the world. Each month a list of recently cataloged materials is made available through the ERC's main web site. Collection Development Guidelines.
