Columbus State’s Integrated Systems Technology is a program that emerged in collaboration with the National Science Foundation, University of Illinois and many corporate partners. The Columbus State IST Center provides a hands-on experience using industry standard equipment that recreates the industrial environment in the classroom. Individuals experience advanced manufacturing training in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation and process control systems.

Training industrial workers is still a vital need in today's economy. Although manufacturing jobs are less prevalent, these jobs require more skills than ever before. A large cohort of manufacturing workers is retiring, opening opportunities for younger workers with the right skills. Other workers are retraining for new jobs. The IST lab intends play a significant role in training today's workers. .

We serve two main groups: Current Workers and their Employers and Displaced Workers.
