Typical Job Duties
As a MH/CD/MR (Human Service) Specialist
you will work with:
- people who are addicted to alcohol and drugs;
- people with severe mental disabilities - in state mental hospitals,
residential facilities, community homes, group homes;
- adult offenders in correctional facilities, half-way houses,
rehabilitation clinics, group homes, and hospitals;
- all kinds of people in need - through crisis center hot-lines, inner
city centers, workshops, and half-way houses;
- children, adults, and seniors with mental retardation and developmental
disabilities - in group homes, state developmental centers, schools,
sheltered workshops, habilitation centers;
- young people who are in SBH classes in public schools;
- people from all walks of life in all age groups, from very different
communities and cultures.
As a MH/CD/MR Specialist you will do:
