Transferring

Columbus State Community College offers transfer courses leading to the Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees which will generally satisfy the first two years of a baccalaureate degree. Formal agreements have been made with colleges and universities in Central Ohio which allow for coursework taken in A.A. or A.S. degree programs at Columbus State to transfer and apply to B.A. or B.S. requirements at those institutions. Transfer Guides are available for Capital University, Mount Carmel College of Nursing, Otterbein College, and The Ohio State University.  These guides are designed to  assist students in selecting courses that will specific requirements at the institutions listed above.  Contact a transfer advisor for more information.

In addition, the core degree requirements at Columbus State constitute the Ohio Board of Regent's approved Ohio Transfer Policy Module which will transfer to any state supported institution in Ohio.

Graduation Requirements:

1. All students must satisfactorily complete at least 92 credit hours of approved courses, a minimum of 35 hours of which must be completed at Columbus State. Approved courses are listed in the Ohio Transfer Module and in the Transfer Guides. Satisfactory completion requires a final grade of A, B, C, or D. Transfer credit may be awarded for courses in which a "C" or better has been earned at other accredited institutions if the course level equivalencies have been approved by the Dean of Arts and Sciences. (If courses are listed in the "Transfer Module" of an Ohio college, they have been pre-approved for credit toward a Columbus State degree.)

2. All students must attain an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better for all credit courses at the 100 level or above taken at Columbus State. Grade point averages are calculated on the following scale: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, E=0. Number equivalencies are not assigned for grades other than these.

3. All students must complete the General Education Requirements for the Associate of Arts or the Associate of Science degrees.

See the course descriptions located in the Columbus State Catalog to identify prerequisites for all courses. Columbus State transfer and equivalency guides are updated at a minimum of once a year.
