VOLLEYBALL: GET IN THE GAME!

The women’s volleyball team started their 2007-2008 campaign in August, rested and reloaded.

This is the first year the volleyball team joined NJCAA Div. II, allowing it to offer scholarships. Coach Scott Nichols said he used the scholarships to attract new talent to the team.
           
This year’s squad features Michelle Hammond, a walk-on volleyball player at Ohio State University last year. It also includes two players from Newark Catholic High School’s state-champion team, Meredith McDonald and Kaylee Firich.

Andrea Klabbatz returns from last year’s Columbus State team, which went 26-15. Last year’s squad included OCCAC All Conference Team members Jessica Helmuth, Ashlee Schreck and Chelsie Snively; as well as Honorable Mention Kaitlyn Byers. Our volleyball team plays its home games in the gymnasium at Delaware Hall. Admission is always free to students.
