The Department of Student Activities & Athletics invites all students, faculty and staff to attend its free quarterly events, such as Welcome Back, Spirit Week, and Jazz in July. Along with other special programs that highlight timely issues or national commemorations, the department also co-sponsors events with other campus offices, to bring in high profile speakers. Recent speakers include Judge Greg Mathis, Maya Angelou, Hill Harper of CSI: NY, and Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

• Student Ambassador (30 students participate annually in this selective program)
• Student Government Association (An opportunity for students to give their input on issues affecting
students at the college)

• Welcome Back (Autumn - approximately 70 campus and community departments and organizations
and over 1,000 students, staff and faculty participate)
• Spirit Week (Winter - approximately 400 students attend various activities in the gym and/or
cafeteria)
• Spring Fling (Spring –approximately 65 campus and community departments and organizations and
over 1,000 students, staff and faculty participate)
• Jazz in July (Summer – approximately 250 students, staff and faculty attend)

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
In order to be recognized by Columbus State Community College and be eligible for benefits of that recognition, Student clubs & Organizations must register as a new club or organization and annually renew the registration of an existing club or organization with the Student Activities Office, Nestor Hall Room 116. * There are more than two dozen clubs and organizations at Columbus State.
